Editing the opinion polls: When… the voters are divided in order to gain the results they desire

The last opinion poll, which was publicly presented, was that of the MRB Company, which was materialized on behalf of STAR television station. 

According to this poll, regarding the voting intentions, GOLDEN DAWN gains 7%, PASOK 6,9% and KKE 6,9%, shares that in the case of estimation of votes are translated to 7,9% for GOLDEN DAWN, 7,8% for PASOK and 7,7 for KKE. Is it possible though that these numbers and these differences to respond in the reality? Definitely we reply NO! We shall explain the reasons with numbers, no words.

According to the identity of this poll, in the enquiry which was materialized from 13th to 15th of February, participated 1.011 persons throughout Greece. Among these 1.011 persons, 23% did not express voting intentions and more precisely 9, 8% had made no decision, 1, 7% gave no answer and 11,5 chose the abstention. 

The 23% of the 1.011, who participated in the opinion poll represents 232 voters. Abstracting 232 from the total of 1,011, remain 779 voters. Well, how could it be possible in the number 779 to exist a difference between political parties of the rate of 1%? This is mathematically impossible and it can be possible only if those who made the enquiry, had divided the voters.

In simple words, there is no possibility in a total sample of 779 participants to exist a difference 0,1% and among three political parties according to this poll! 

It is obvious that this opinion poll was also edited, by cutting the shares of specific political parties, among them definitely GOLDEN DAWN and by adding votes to other political parties, among them definitely PASOK…

All these simple mathematic assumptions are perceivable to the average viewer? 

Of course not! And this is their major weapon, because stupidity is an invincible enemy!
