"German" faces staring at you on the TV screen.
In the last 12 hours, a series of dramatic events have taken place.
Many of you have been asking for an update and so we will try our best to give an overview of what has happened.
As many of you already know, the Greek People voted an overwhelming NO to the terms of the Memorandum, despite banks being closed and Tsipras putting restrictions on bank withdrawls.
Alexis Tsipras declared it a “victory for democracy” as many of his supporters danced in the center of Athens. Nothing more “democratic” than a referendum, and yet the leftists would be terrified at the prospect of having a referendum for the illegal immigrants.
But like most things in Greece, what appears on the surface is not what actually is.
New Democracy Leader Antonis Samaras Resigns
The panic has spread among both the “Conservative” New Democracy and the “Radical Left” Syriza despite the “victory of democracy” Antonis Samaras, the leader of New Democracy has stepped down.
SYRIZA Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis riding off into the sunset.
Despite Syrizas dance show, for some reason their finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, once thought to be the tough, motorcycle riding political figure who doesn’t wear a tie is leaving also. Strange indeed yet predictable, because soon you will see the signing of a new leftist memorandum despite the “victory for democracy”
The banks in Greece remain closed, and any reopening will result in a chaotic bank rush for massive withdrawals and the chaos afterwards. Come mid week, the world shall see what a “victory for democracy” looks like.
