From “there are money” to Artemios Sorras-Article of N. G. Michaloliakos

POLITICS AS DECEPTION AND DECEPTION AS POLITICS

Artemios Sorras is a major issue of the political actuality, as well as his “treasures”, which derive from some forgotten shares, whether from the gold of a ….Japanese, whether from money, that America owes him, since he sold to them the high technology of the Ancient Greeks! Yet, why is there surprise regarding this phenomenon? Before I report the recent promises of our political leaders, which do not differ as much from those of Artemios Sorras, let us recall in few words the modern political history of this land.

 

The “dynasty” of Sorras

 

With the political changeover of 1974, which was warmly welcomed –as a new Easter- by the citizens of this country, did not we end up in bankruptcy, the devastation of the Education and the Health, and to a sad and humiliated Greece? And after few years, did not they promise to the people the end of the Turkish threat and the arrival of an era of abundancy, with the entry of the country at Europe (then EEC)? And after that, did not almost all Greeks created registries at stock market and did not they buy papers, which nowadays have no value even as papers? All these before we reach the era of memoranda and the “saviors”, whose promises were no different than those of Artemios Sorras, they promised money!

 

Let us begin with Artemios Sorras A’, Georgios Papandreou, who with the notorious “there are money”, took 43% in the elections and rose to governance. However, there were no money and from Kastellorizo, we entered in the era of memoranda. 

 

Afterwards, we had Artemios Sorras B’, Antonis Samaras, who as the head of the opposition, presented his economic programs Zappeio 1 and 2 with which we would have all of our problems solved and we would exit memoranda! And all these, until he became prime minister, he promised he would bring out from the memoranda Greece, but he finally signed himself a memorandum. So Samaras ended and along with him came the time of the left wing. 

 

Following Antonis Samaras we have Artemios Sorras C’, Alexis Tsipras who was supposed to rip off the memorandum and with an article of a draft law would end the hostageship of this country from the foreign usurers. He proved to be another liar, and not only did he not abolish the memorandum, but he even brought a new memorandum, more harsh and worse than the previous, which is current to our days. 

 

In few words, what different did Artemios Sorras promised, that Papandreou, Samaras and Tsipras? All of them promised money, easy money, without sacrifices, without a conflict with those who are responsible for the economical war against our Nation. Other would find these money from China and another from Russia, others from the investors, who are anticipated but they never arrive, and other from mythical treasures, reminding Aladdin’s lamp, or Ali Baba and the 40 thieves.

 

Golden Dawn and…Sorras!

 

Prompted by the case of Artemios Sorras, which is in the first line of the media, the paid journalists with their constant obsession against GOLDEN DAWN, urged to parallelize this subject with the strong appearance in the political life if the country of GOLDEN DAWN! In fact an allegedly serious reports of the adhered to memoranda newspaper “Kathimerini” wrote that after Golden Dawn we believe there was no lower, referring to the Sorras case! 

 

Of course he forgot to say that the newspaper that pays him for 7 years now insists that the memoranda will save us, yet the Nation is heading towards the catastrophe. 

 

Yet, which could be the relation between an Ideological and Political Movement, the ancient reality rising back, the reality of Nationalism, and the usual political mendacity of a man, who also promises that he will donate money? GOLDEN DAWN, though, have never promised such thing, on the contrary, she promised fight, sacrifices, justice, return to Hellenism and to National Dignity, even if that means the conflict with the international interests, which threaten more and more our Homeland. It seems that GOLDEN DAWN has become an obsession to them and even if they write about bad food recipes, they will remember once again GOLDEN DAWN! 

 

Finally, which could be the relation between the desperation for money that leads some to political parties such as that of Sorras, and the fair justice for Homeland and Freedom of every member and adherent to Golden Dawn? Well…The time the used to invoke that the votes of Golden Dawn are occasional has gone, and they have already perceived that is about a steady political reality that cannot be stopped except with the persecutions, even though the persecutions, along with the assassinations and the imprisonments were not able to repress the power of the Idea!

Let us return, though, to the political life of the country and to the case Artemios Sorras. He is accused of being a liar. What different did they say for all these years? And the political life how different is it from this situation explained by Galateia Kazantzaki, in her wonderful poem:
