Golden Dawn MP E. Zaroulia: The TTIP agreement is an ultra-Memorandum for the interests of the Multinationals - Video
Comrade and B’ Athens MP, Eleni Zaroulia spoke at the committee meeting on the transatlantic trade agreements between the European Union and the USA.
First she said that we must not forget that the TTIP agreement is an untransparent ultra-Memorandum with conditions laid down by lobbies of big business and noted that the MPs of Golden Dawn have many times spoken on the risks posed for our country.
Among other things, the Golden Dawn MP said that with this agreement, higher university education will move to the private sector, as will hospital care and the critical sectors of drinking and irrigation water will move to the private sector, collective agreements will be repealed, personal data will be at the disposal of every insurance company and every organization who participates in its management and genetically altered products, cloned farm animals with hormones will be sold on the market with no disclosure on the effects to health and the environment.
Referring to the example of Heraklion, Crete, which was declared a free zone from the TTIP agreement, she said that the same should be done with all the other municipalities on the island, and even better still for our country to entirely reject this transatlantic trading relationship, which has nothing positive to offer.
On the formation of the committee she said that Golden Dawn looks to it positively, if the procedures are meaningful, because there is a lack of information and only what the negotiators want is being publicly revealed. In closing she stressed that the national state should determine the economy and that large trusts should not be regulators of our country.
