Greece and Geopolitics: A “strategic” perception of submission – Article by N. G. Michaloliakos

A great mendacity that has been systematically promoted during the two centuries of the life of the Modern Greek state is that Greece ought to always be an ally with the great naval force that dominates in Mediterranean. This tactical perception is in fact a perception of submission, since it is well known that our country is par excellence a maritime country with an extended coastline, therefore her “alliance” with the great naval force prevents her from becoming a great force and dominant in her territory. That was the meaning of our “alliance” in the past with England and today with the USA and of our constant rivalry with the main empire of Europe whether this is Germany or Russia. On the contrary, an alliance with the central empire giving to the latter an outlet to Mediterranean is a major advantage for our people.
Greece and the principal condition of the “sovereignty”
As written by Charles Haushofer, the existence of a state is determined by three indispensable traits: a) the territory b) the people c) the sovereignty. If sovereignty is missing, there is typically the state, yet in reality, this state is submissive to another. Today, with no doubt, Greece do not comply with the condition of the “sovereignty”. But is not only that. The other necessary elements for the future existence of a nationally sovereign Greek state is the Territory and the People. Relatively to the territory, the dispute over Aegean creates new standards, while the general territorial sovereignty of our country is unsafe and under constant threat deriving from the North and East as well! Regarding the PEOPLE, when we refer to people, in the science of geopolitics, we describe a nationally homogeneous ensemble, which is currently under threat. If at 20, 30 years, the overwhelming majority of Greece are not Greeks by Blood, we must realize there will be no Greece.
During the last years, our country had really major chances for her geopolitical upgrade to the point of hoping for a future “Sovereignty”. Unfortunately, these chances were not only disregarded, but also the governance of “our state” did everything possible, in order to harm in a geopolitical aspect the Hellenism!
The break-up of Yugoslavia and the control of the passages between Europe and the East from the Americans and in the future by the Turks, involves for our Homeland a great risk. From the one part the risk of the severance of our country from Europe and from the other, the risk of an immediate strategic threat from Turkey and the other states which tend to become -under the favor of USA- her satellites (Bulgaria, Skopje, Albania).
Additionally, in a general aspect, the break-up of Yugoslavia constituted a great blow for the European Union, since with a united and free Yugoslavia which would be in the future a member of the European Union, Europe could have assured the outlet towards the East. We have to realize that the nature cannot apprehend the definition of the void. Therefore, Yugoslavia can be replaced by another power, if not Greece, then definitely Turkey.
In other words: Greece, according to the lows of geopolitics, confronts a great danger and we must also understand: “a small and honest Greece” cannot exist. This is the propaganda of various agents, who, obeying others, govern our Homeland.
The only Greece that can exist is a Greece with demographic development, with ultimate control and sovereignty in Cyprus, with territorial sea at Aegean at 12 miles, with protected northern borders and with protected passages towards the Middle Europe and with complete control and sovereignty in Northern Epirus and at the Strait of Otranto. Solely this Greece can be Free and Sovereign.
