Letter of N. G. Michaloliakos to the President of the Hellenic Republic regarding the crucial developments on the Cyprus issue

The Secretary General of People’s Association Golden Dawn, Nikolaos G. Michaloliakos sent today the following letter to the President of the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Prokopios Pavlopoulos, regarding the crucial developments on the Cyprus issue.

 

 

Athens, the 11th January of 2017

His Excellency, Mr. President of the Hellenic Republic, 

 

I feel obliged to present to you the opinions of the political party People’s Association-Golden Dawn, regarding the major national issue of Cyprus.

According to the press release of the office of the Prime Minister, you were informed on the opinions of…all the political leaders (!), a fact that is untrue. I never met the prime minister in order to present my opinions about this major national issue, on his own responsibility and not mine. And the mendacity of the prime minister to the President of the Hellenic Republic is the saddest, if only political parties or political leaders can be erased, using stalinist methods!

 

According to this press release, the prime minister declared: “I consider as extremely hopeful the fact that there is a concordance from the side of the political powers over the firm positions, I would invoke, of the Greek side, but also a total support of the Greek political life to the efforts of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, of President Anastasiadis, for a positive development and a durable and fair solution to the Cyprus issue.

 

The above, claimed by the Prime Minister are not valid. On behalf of the GOLDEN DAWN there is no compliance, nor support to the efforts of the President of the Republic of Cyprus for a solution on the Cyprus issue. On the contrary, we believe that the president, against to the will of the Greek Cyprian People plans a solution at the expense of the interests of the Greek Nation.

 

Relatively to this subject, I have made at the 9th of January 2011 the following statement:

 

“Golden Dawn denounces as antidemocratic the act of Prime Minister to exclude the head of the third political power of the country from the meetings for the notification on the fundamental national Cyprus issue. All the Greeks should have the floor for a national issue. 

 

Golden Dawn also condemns the ensemble of the political parties that consented with no objection to this antidemocratic scheme of Alexis Tsipras.

 

In fact. We are against to any federal solution, promoted by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Anastasiadis. The political establishment of Greece wrongly supports this act, which is going to lead to the turkification of Cyprus. This “solution” is nothing more than another “Anan plan”, which has been denounced by the overwhelming majority of the Greek Cyprian People. 

 

Golden dawn believes that as long as there is a single soldier of “Attilas” on this Greek island, a solution of the Cyprus issue is not possible. Even if there is only one settler on this Greek island. This settlement is an ethnic cleansing. It is a war crime.”

 

I remain in this statement and I consider as my duty to make it clear to your Excellency.
