This the sickening moment an angry migrant steals a baby from a woman and threatens to throw her at Greek police as tempers continue to flare along Europe's borders.

It was a little after noon on Wednesday when the shocking video was filmed. While migrants demanding the opening of the borders to Europe were protesting at Piraeus Port, a man took the tiny baby off a young mother and began to shake her violently as he confronted Greek police. He then threatened to use the newborn child as a weapon as clashes between migrants and Greek border police turned violent.

 

According to local reports, a man in a green shirt had been stopped by the Greek coastguards from smashing up a car in anger. News cameras then caught the moment the same man took the newborn child off a woman and began to "brandish" it at police. He holds the child above his head by the newborn's tiny neck and legs.

Greek authorities are trying to remove about 5,000 migrants from Greece’s biggest port. The migrants refuse to leave the area because they believe they might end up trapped in a refugee camp. At the same time, most of them still hope that the borders to Europe would open.

 

The general secretary on migration who visted the  Piraeus Port refused to have the press around him and asked reporters and television cameras to leave. “I don’t want to see my picture on television at noon,” he said to protesting journalists and TV crews.
