Newspaper “GOLDEN DAWN”: 1.000 Issues! - Article by N. G. Michaloliakos
Twenty three years of struggle against the degenerated and corrupt political system
“…And if leap years come upon us, times of rage befall us
and those birds that disappear frightened and any trees too
they’re not worth for nothing else but to become war trenches
Don’t fear destruction.
Fire, ax!
Pull and uproot it, mow down the orchard, cut it all down
And castle build on top of it and trench yourself inside it.
For struggle, and for bloodying up, all for the coming day,
which we forever await and forever starts approaching
and like a wreck it’s always lost in the turning of cycles…”
KOSTIS PALAMAS
It was the 10th of January of 1993, when our newspaper was launched for the first time in the stands throughout our country, which arrives now to the issue number 1.000! Ever since the first day of her launching, with the announcement of her publication, friends and enemies insisted that “GOLDEN DAWN” won’t publish even ten issues and that she will soon end her circulation. They had not taken in consideration the will, the tenacity, the spirit of sacrifice and the persistence of all those who supported the voice of the Greek Nationalist through the years. Hundreds of comrades fought through their writings, in order to sustain this newspaper. By our side, we had the adherent to “GOLDEN DAWN”, of a newspaper that never succumbed, nor compromised, despite the polemic of an entire system.
“For a great Greece in a free Europe”
Ever since the first issue, we made it clear that the publishing of this newspaper is not to be considered as simple publishing product, since it constitutes a mean of battle in the domain of politics and Ideas. The political distinctive of the newspaper “GOLDEN DAWN” was defined in these words: “For a great Greece in a free Europe” and from the fact that it constitutes a popular nationalistic newspaper.
It’s worth to notice that it is the only newspaper that never received, nor was granted with public or private publicity. This newspaper reposed exclusively to the steel will of her contributors and the short supplies of her subscribers.
From the first issue till today, there are constant complaints for her termination, while incidents with anarchists and communists threatening the owners of stands did occurred. And it was in 1993, in the first issues, where our newspaper confronted the first scheme with the notorious “brand” of a student.
A student in the region of Ampelokipi denounced that two adherent to Golden Dawn had branded her forehead with swastika! Of course, it became obvious that it was a fraud, an organized scheme, since according to the forensic report, it was a tattoo inked in her skin with her will. Well, back then, triggered by this scheme, numerous gatherings against GOLDEN DAWN took place throughout Greece and in a march of anarchists and communists, starting from Omonoia and ending in the Greek Parliament, this “progressive” mob piled all the copies of the newspaper “GOLDEN DAWN” from the stands in Athens and burned them in front of the Parliament.
These flames, however, were not able to bend our spirit, to restrain us. So, today all of you, who support the popular nationalistic newspaper “GOLDEN DAWN” hold in your hands the issue of serial number 1.000!
The author of this text has the honor to sign, 23 years now, the main article of the newspaper and many other texts in every publishing. For 23 years we gave the battle, with our words, for a Greece proud and strong, belonging to Greeks. A Greece that now has been transformed into a pawn of foreign interests, whether under the form of the foreign loan sharks, who have economically enslaved our country, whether under the form of hundreds of foreigners, who arrived illegally in our country.
1993: “This problem demand solution”
Everyone lately remembered a problem, which is being called “refugee problem”, a problem that is formidably crucial, since it tends to turn our country into a jungle, while the demographic statistics obscure the future of our Nation. To all those who now noticed this problem, I offer the excerpt of one of my articles in Golden Dawn, at the very first issues, back in February of 1933:
“14/02/1993, THE PROBLEM OF THE FOREIGNERS DEMANDS A SOLUTION: According to official reports, the illegal immigrants reach in our country the five thousand. Others raise them in one million. Their objective is their permanent residence in Greece. Yet if this establishment becomes reality, then the ethnic composition of our people will change radically. According to the irrefutable results of numbers and if we consider the potentials of the proliferation of the illegal immigrants, the low birth rate of our people and the high birth rate of the foreigners, it is more than certain that in few decades the foreigners will surpass the half of the Greek citizens of this country and in 200 or 300 years they will become the overpowering majority. This problem demands a prompt, radical and definitive solution. Let us be concerned with the protection of our Homeland, the life and the belongings of the citizens, the social tranquility, but not pay attention to the “humanitarian” words of some vague so called “progressivists”.
In urban centers and in villages, the entrepreneurs send away the Greek workers and recruit foreigners with very low payments, in order to maximize their profits. The state has enacted a low regarding this case, a low that punishes severely the remorseless employers, yet is not being applied. This problem can be solved, if only emerge the political will and the boldness towards this cause. The illegally residing in Greece foreigners find money from somewhere…A sudden examination on the enterprises and the punishment of the owners, with high fines of ten to twenty millions, according to the legislation, would be enough for those who work illegally. If this process happened three or four times, then no one would be eager to hire illegal immigrants for sure.
Finally, the government and the political parties must understand that the problem of foreigners is crucial, is a problem demanding an immediate and radical solution, since their devoir is the defense of the national interests, not the pillage of votes, every four years.
We continue…
Miserably, neither the governments nor the political parties that governed our Homeland took into account this reality, which we had the courage and the boldness to reveal, even since the debut of the 90ies. The fact that we were proved to be right is not enough. On the contrary, we are embolden to continue the fight for a great Greece in a Free Europe, a Greece belonging to Greeks. “GOLDEN DAWN” 1.000th issue and so on…
