The so called “reduced” flow of illegal immigrants - Article by the Golden Dawn MEP G. Epitideios
Lately, it has been repeatedly said, mainly by official sources, and with a sense of relief, that the migration flow from Turkey to the Greek islands is now considerably reduced. Many even claim that the recent EU agreement with Turkey is functioning quite effectively! Last April, the number of illegal immigrants from Turkey was indeed decreased. Just 3,360 compared to about 27,000 who had arrived in March. An old saying goes, “Beware of Greeks bearing gifts.” Well, in this case, instead of “Greeks” we have the EU and Turkey.
One would be naϊve to share the optimism flaunted by the people who rule. To prove my point, let’s analyze why the current situation serves a hidden agenda. The leading EU echelons, recognizing their complete failure to address the problem of invasion in Europe by hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants, while at the same time facing their peoples’ utter disdain in their respective member states, are desperately seeking to show that at long last they have had s o m e success with this thorny issue. If this state of things continues, Merkel will be seriously challenged in Germany by the constant rise of the AfD party, while the imminent referendum in Great Britain will significantly strengthen the Pro-Brexit advocates’ standpoints and turnout percentage. Therefore, after having initially succumbed to all of Turkey’s demands, the most recent and important of which being the visa waiver for Turkish nationals, it is now due time to ask Turkey to back down a little, and somehow control the migration flow to Greece, in order to show that its EU agreement has been put into effect according to plan.
On the other hand, the EU has realized that after their initial shock the Greek people are now starting to react strongly against the presence of so many thousands of illegal immigrants; we have been facing the problems that the immigrants create on a daily basis, and we are aware of the devastating consequences for our country if this unacceptable situation continues to be. One of these consequences is the sharp decline in tourism on those islands where there are illegal immigrants. It is a well-known fact that hotel bookings are down by almost 80%. If more illegal immigrants arrived in great numbers during the tourist season, whereas no tourists came at all, the reaction of the Greek people would be vehement. In connection with the Greeks’ barely restrained feelings of indignation under the excruciating austerity measures to be imposed on them after the new Insurance and Tax Plan is enacted, it was feared that such an explosive mix of events would shake the much wanted authority of some upstarts in Brussels and their loyal servants here. So, action was taken to stop the massive arrivals of illegal immigrants, at least during the summer season, and then we’ll take it from there.
Do not be impressed if you find out that a counterweight “refugee” flow suddenly surges from Libya, and the rest of Africa, to Italy via the island of Lampedusa. This is also part of the well-plotted plan that has been conspired for the Islamification of Europe and the gradual replacement of its own population with people from Third Countries. As regards Turkey, its interests are still met even when the completion of the whole project is postponed for a while. Besides, it has proven it knows how to wait. Under these circumstances T u r k e y is fully in control and always ready to take the initiative. At any time, Erdoğan may cancel the EU agreement, as he has actually threatened to do; he would once again start blackmailing a European Union already susceptible to such attitudes. So, if he reactivates the human trafficking rings again, he may well overflow Greece with new waves of illegal immigrants at any given moment. Prime Minister Davutoğlu’s sudden replacement possibly serves such a scheme. Davutoğlu could be easily blamed for an “incorrect” application of the EU-Turkey Agreement, and Erdoğan could then terminate it and start negotiating from scratch.
While Turkey is in control and handling matters concerning it in a way that serves its own interests, the Greek government has set different priorities, being “careful and troubled” about other things. Assisted by New Democracy, assumingly the major “opposition” party, and all the other parties of the so-called “constitutional arch,” the Greek government is in reality only concerned about how to absorb the 50,000 illegal immigrants it agreed to “inherit” and how many more will be granted political asylum. Thus, ignoring the reactions of the local citizens and authorities, it is arranging for more and more new camps (hot spots) to be constructed throughout Greece. Oreokastro, Kalohori, Lagadikia are just some of the areas that will be “happy” to accommodate a number of those people who “honoured us when they chose Greece over other countries,” to quote the President of the Republic. Well, I reckon he can’t wait to visit them all and thank them in person. Meanwhile, a once proud country is still indulging itself in self-humiliation at Idomeni. The Greek State, unfortunately for the people who love it and anguish over their nation’s fate, has the leaders it only deserves.
The sole consolation, the only hope to reverse the situation and save our nation is the Golden Dawn, the one and only force putting up a good fight, resisting decay, not giving in. We are the ones to heal the dangerous wound inflicted upon the nation’s heart by its foes, who have been aiding millions of illegal immigrants to continually flood our country. A wound which, to quote from Shakespeare’s R o m e o a n d J u l i e t, “is not so deep as a well …. but ’tis enough, ’twill serve …. and you shall find me a grave man.” We are struggling to avoid this grave, escape this death, and save our nation. Under the able command of our Leader Nikos Michaloliakos we will continue to fight, even if we are alone against everybody, in order to keep our nation alive, to make sure that new generations of Greeks will see the light of day— and when, eventually, we find our ancestors back, we will be proud to stand next to them because, “obedient to their laws,” we won’t have given up our sacred weapons, but we will have kept fighting, defending the interests of our country.
