The turkish threat has arrived in our gates-Article of N. G. Michaloliakos

The political establishment is “self-collected”

Turkey becomes day by day more and more aggressive towards our country. From this side of Aegean the “self-collected” state of Athens is watching these threats and answers with vague and wishful words that the borders of Greece are also the borders of Europe and that Europeans will not allow to Turkey the aggressive actions against us. The assumption that there is no impact in the threats of Turkey and they simply constitute a tactic against the crisis in Turkey is also wishful thinking…

We could recall the statements of the Turkish president who directly threatened our Homeland: “Turkey is not only Turkey and apart from the 79 millions of citizens, she is responsible towards the hundred millions of brothers in the geographical area, with which there are historical and cultural liaisons.”

“It is a duty, but also a right of Turkey to be interested about Iraq, Syria, Libya, Crimea,  Karabakh, Bosnia and the rest of these regions…The moment that we are going to resign from this right, will be the moment that we will lose our independence and our future.”

“Some historians estimate that the borders of our national contract also include Cyprus, Aleppo, Mosul, Arbil, Kirkuk, Batumi, Thessalonica, Kardzhali, Varna and the islands of Aegean.”

There are no doubts in the words of the sultan of neo-ottomanism, they want our Land, they want our Homeland and Greece must react!

The same disposition with Erdogan was declared by the Turkish minister of Foreign Affairs: “The “kardac” (the Turkish name for Imia) is Turkish land”, the Turkish minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu stated according to “Milliyet”, in his answer to a question of Turkish deputies Fikri Sağlar and Niyazi Nefi Kara, regarding the state of the islands and islets in the Aegean.

According to the minister of Foreign Affairs: “There is no change in our policy regarding Imia. Imia constitute Turkish land. As long as AKP governs, there is no change at the legal and de facto status of the islands of Aegean.”

You should notice the words of the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs who talks about: “de facto status of the Aegean islands”, relatively to this de facto state, which since 1996 occurs at Imia, where no Greek citizen can go, neither a Greek flag to wave, after 1996!

This is the sorrow situation for all the Greek patriots who watch with desperation and wrath the yieldingness of the Greek governments for entire decades towards the Turkish threats. Is it possible for this situation to change?

With the existing political and economic establishment definitely NO! Ever since the beginning of the decade of ’90, the late professor Panagiotis Kondylis had written about the case of the Greco-Turkish war and about those who govern our Homeland the following: “The mediocrities, the sub-mediocrities and the anti-mediocrities who constitute the Greek politic system, do not have the stature to confront and resolve historical problems of such extent and depth, they may fall apart even in the case of facing the crucial decision to wage war…”

In other words, if there was a national Greek state and not a false political establishment, we should have presented these Turkish threats, as well as the casus belli about Aegean, to the international organizations. However, the “self-controlled” governors of this land watch hapless and powerless these developments, unable to defend our national rights.
